Welcome to the Jason
Burch Breath for life fund
It’s easy isn’t it? Breathing in, breathing out…we do it hundreds of times each day. We do it without thinking. But what happens when we have difficulty breathing? For Jason, breathing isn’t so easy.
Our friend, Jason Burch can talk to you more about that. When his trouble breathing began, he went to a doctor, then another, and another. Test after test until the diagnosis was confirmed. Nonspecific Idiopathic Interstitial Pneumonias (NSIP), this condition can sometimes be treated by drugs or other therapies, unfortunately in Jason’s case, his disease is so severe that he needs a bilateral lung transplant. How terrifying must that be?
Add to the stress and uncertainty of the months and years, Jason and his family are facing enormous medical bills that his insurance only partially covers. Jason currently works as much as he can, but once his transplant takes place and he will be subjected to months of recovery and rehabilitation, therefore he will be unable to return to work for a long period of time. He will face paying thousands of dollars out of his pocket a month for medications and therapy. The cost alone would take your breath away.
Over the coming months, we will be hosting several fundraising events and ask people to pitch in and help our friend out. If you aren’t able to attend an event, we have established this website where you can donate through using Paypal or credit card.
Times are hard now and we know that we are asking a lot, but Jason and his family need us and no matter how much or how little we do, we are helping out. Please keep good thoughts and prayers. Throughout Jason’s journey…we are all holding our breath.
